''Energy takes a central role in Bulgaria’s strategic dialogue with the United States. We are strongly committed to further deepening cooperation with the United States in civil nuclear energy, to creating a more sustainable energy market, to strengthening Bulgaria’s role as a regional energy hub, and to generating even more opportunities for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic'', Premier Rosen Zhelyazkov said at the opening of the Third Session of the Bulgaria–U.S. Strategic Dialogue, held at the Council of Ministers, reported BTA.
Rosen Zhelyazkov emphasized that Bulgaria has made significant progress in diversifying its energy sector, reducing its dependence on Russian energy resources.
The session was attended by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Christopher Smith, who is visiting Bulgaria in connection with the forum.
