The Bulgarian Cultural Center in Seattle, with the support of 4Culture, invites the community to a Christmas concert of the Bulgarian diaspora in Seattle. The event, titled “Different Cultures, One Dream,” is inspired by the poetry of Pencho Slaveykov and the universal aspiration for peace, love, and understanding among people. The script and direction are by Daniela Nyberg, and the hosts will be Desislava Mihaylova and Viktor Tsvetanov.

The stage of the Kirkland Performance Center this year will welcome guests from near and far. Musicians from Episode Band  will be arriving from Norway specifically for the concert and evening party.

“For the first time, our Christmas show will include Serbian and Greek dance groups: the ensemble ‘Vuk Karadžić’ from Vancouver (British Columbia) and the Spartiates Dance Group from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle.

“We will once again have the pleasure of hearing Petar Aleksiev–The Smile (bagpipe) and Angel Dobrev (gadulka), who live in Chicago and who, together with our local musicians, will bring back the rich sound of the beloved **‘Interstate Orchestra,’” the organizers shared.

In the spirit of cultural diversity, the folklore ensemble “Radost” will present Croatian choreography.

Local performers will include the women’s choir “Bulgarian Voices of Seattle,” talented young singer Annika Alexander, “Hopa Trop” Folklore Dance Ensemble (adults and children), “Youth Magic” (a newly formed group), “Honey Cake” Children’s Folklore Group, “Seattle Carolers,” and the folklore formation “Seattle Cheta” (adults and youth).

“Plan for a long Saturday afternoon and evening, friends — we invite you to relax and immerse yourselves in the magic of the Christmas celebration!” the Bulgarian Cultural Center in Seattle wrote on Facebook.

The event will take place on December 14 at 2:30 p.m. local time at the Kirkland Performance Center (350 Kirkland Ave, Kirkland).
