Representatives of 35 organizations from seven countries will discuss possible approaches to balance ecology, safety and transport exploitation of the Danube River. They will participate in a meeting of the “Danube River Sediment Restoration” project, which will be held in the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse from December 10 to 12.

“The main goal of the project is to restore and sustainably manage the sediment balance, as well as to improve the quality of surface and groundwater in the Danube River Basin,” said Victoria Ivanova from the university, quoted by BTA. The forum will include representatives of universities, ministries and non-governmental organizations from Austria, Bulgaria, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine and Croatia, working to preserve the ecological balance and biodiversity of the Danube River.
