Officers from the General Directorate Border Police carried out an on-board inspection of the tanker “Kairos”, which ran aground near Ahtopol, to determine whether it is safe for other persons to board the vessel, BTA reports, citing the General Directorate Border Police. Subsequently, officials from the Maritime Administration also conducted an inspection.

The three sailors from the ten-member crew who had remained on board the tanker were replaced by three other sailors selected from those who had been evacuated in the preceding days, the Border Police reported. The tanker “Kairos,” sailing under a foreign flag, ran aground off the coast of Ahtopol last Friday.

The Ministry of Environment and Water reported that no oil pollution has been detected.
