BSP-United Left party insists on adopting the 2026 budget now.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party - United Left insist on adopting the 2026 budget by the end of this year because of the social benefits provided for in the draft submitted by the cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov.

This was stated by BSP leader and resigned Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov in a statement at the party headquarters.

"It is extremely important now not to destroy the state and to preserve statehood and stability, because the shock is very serious," he said. If the new budget is not adopted, Bulgarian citizens will be the ones who will suffer, the coalition believes.

It was also stated that BSP-United Left is categorically against Bulgaria providing a guarantee worth 1.2 billion euros for the loan to Ukraine.
