''Under the Stars'' with Vessy Boneva

Born and raised in Plovdiv, having conquered not only Sofia’s stages but also international ones alongside her colleague – producer, arranger and songwriter Svetlin Kaslev, Vessy Boneva has in recent years been living and working mainly in Burgas. It was there that inspiration struck her for her new song “Pod zvezdite”( Under the Stars). Vessy Boneva has more:

“It was a truly magical experience. I now spend more time alone in the studio in Burgas, since my colleague Svetlin Kaslev is busier with his family. I realized that I should keep on creating and making new Bulgarian music, even if that meant working on my own. And so, on a beautiful summer day, both the lyrics and the melody simply flowed out of me, over a beat I had found. Later, we enriched it a lot and changed the entire concept. But the original idea and concept have been preserved exactly as they were.”

Svetlin Kaslev created the arrangement based on Vessy Boneva’s idea for the music and lyrics. Together, they decided to invite Georgi Dobrev to perform on the kaval. For Vesi, the most beautiful part of the entire project surrounding this song is its music video – it evokes the idea that we are beings connected to nature and the cosmos… living among the stars.
