President Rumen Radev is continuing consultations with parliamentary groups on forming a new cabinet in the 51st National Assembly. After meeting GERB-SDS, PP-DB, Vazrazhdane and DPS–New Beginning, he is scheduled to meet representatives of the fifth and sixth of nine groups — BSP–United Left and There Is Such a People — today.

Should an agreement to form a government not be reached, the president will appoint a caretaker government and call new elections within two months, following consultations with the parliamentary groups and on the proposal of the nominee for caretaker prime minister. The caretaker prime minister may be chosen from among the following: the Speaker of the National Assembly; the Governor or Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank; the Chair or Vice-Chair of the Audit Office; or the Ombudsman or his/her Deputy.
