From Rome with holiday cheer to Radio Bulgaria and friends worldwide!

“To all Bulgarians in Bulgaria and around the world, and to all friends of Bulgaria: may you have peace, good health, and a heart full of joy! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”

This festive greeting from the Bulgarian community in Rome, Italy, arrived in our newsroom in the form of a warm and inspiring video for the audience of Radio Bulgaria. The video features children and teachers from the Asen Peykov Bulgarian school, as well as Bulgarians who are living, studying and working in the Italian capital.

Our compatriots in Rome embody engagement, unity and dedication to the Bulgarian spirit far from home. Their messages are filled with hope and wishes for peace, health, joy, wisdom, and love. The heartfelt words in the video remind us that the Bulgarian language and culture connect us wherever we are in the world.

At the end of the video, Bulgarian children in Rome perform the traditional 'survakane' for Santa Claus and sing Christmas carols accompanied by bagpipes – a truly magical display of hope for the future.
