The Bulgarian School in São Paulo has invited the Bulgarian community, along with anyone who loves Bulgaria and its traditions, to a Christmas celebration on Sunday 21 December at 12:00 local time. The event will take place at the Ibotirama 2004 restaurant, Rua Augusta 1236, Consolação, São Paulo, according to a Facebook post by Mihail Krăstanov, founder and director of the school. Representatives from the Bulgarian Embassy in Brazil and journalists from prominent media outlets are expected to attend.

In preparation for the holidays, students at the Bulgarian School recently took part in a festive Christmas workshop. Teacher Katya Bozova told the children about Bulgarian Christmas traditions, including "survakane", while the students enthusiastically made traditional wooden "survachki" sticks.
