Reporter Daniel Inkov said that the Bulgarian parliament has approved the so-called rollover budget, which will allow the state to operate for up to three months in 2026 without a regular budget. Until a new budget is adopted, revenues will continue to be collected under existing legislation. Priority will be given to paying salaries, pensions and social payments in full.

Parliament also approved a proposal by former finance minister Asen Vasilev (PP-DB) for a one-off adjustment to salaries, based on accumulated inflation as of 31 December 2025, for all employees earning above the minimum wage.

This will be implemented in accordance with the currency conversion rules set out in the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria.
