EU wants Skopje to respect its commitments to the community and Bulgaria

The observance of the agreement between North Macedonia and Bulgaria is one of the conditions for regional cooperation. This is stated in the joint declaration after the EU-Western Balkans summit held in Brussels.

"Inclusive regional cooperation, reconciliation and good neighbourly relations remain key to building a shared future as well as implementing international agreements in good faith and with tangible results, including the Prespa Agreement with Greece and the Treaty on Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation with Bulgaria." the document reads.

Outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said that Sofia's position towards Skopje has always been principled.
