Greek farmers have once again blocked the border with Bulgaria and stopped the movement of trucks. At the Ilinden-Exochi border crossing, the blockade was announced from 12:00 to 20:00, while from 16:00 to 19:00, passenger cars will also be stopped in both directions. From 13:00, the movement of trucks was also suspended at the Kulata-Promachonas crossing.
Queues of trucks have formed in both
directions, BNR’s correspondent Keti Trencheva has reported. The
blockade of the busiest road connection between the two Schengen
member states has been going on intermittently for 17 days now. The
farmers warned that the blockades may continue during the upcoming
holidays.
