A total of 74% of Bulgarians want changes to the Election Code ahead of the next parliamentary elections, while only 22.6% hold the opposite view. The data come from an independent telephone survey by the Myara agency, conducted between December 15 and 17, 2025, among 802 adult Bulgarian citizens.
According to the survey, 42.4% of respondents believe voting should be carried out only by machine; 35.2% support voting either with paper ballots or by machine; 16.8% favor voting only with paper ballots; and 5.6% are unable to answer.
Currently in Bulgaria, voting can be conducted both by machine and with paper ballots. However, machine voting is not provided in polling stations with fewer than 300 registered voters.
