Water prices across the country will change by amounts ranging from a 14% increase to a 12% decrease, depending on the location, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has decided. In Sofia, from the New Year the price will rise by 12% to 4.52 leva.
The most expensive water will be in Silistra - 6.44 leva per cubic meter. The increase as of January is 4.8%. In Razgrad, a cubic meter of water will cost 6.33 leva, representing a 1% increase.
In Shumen, the price is 5.96 leva, but there will be a decrease there. Cheaper water will also be paid in Yambol - the reduction is nearly 12%, with the price per cubic meter dropping to 4.52 leva.
The largest increase is in Kardzhali - almost 14%, reaching 5.17 leva, or €2.64, after January 1. In Burgas, the price rises to 5.28 leva, an increase of 1.4%, while in Plovdiv the price will be 3.73 leva, following a 4% increase.
