By order of outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, it has been established that sufficient quantities of fuel oil are available on the territory of the country, and Sofia has offered Skopje emergency supplies of boiler fuel (fuel oil).

In a phone conversation, Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev informed his North Macedonian counterpart Timcho Mucunski of Bulgaria’s readiness to assist in securing the necessary quantities, the government press service reported.

During the conversation it was emphasized that this gesture is an expression of good neighborly relations and solidarity, and aims to guarantee energy security and stability in the region.

The offer comes after Skopje declared a state of emergency due to difficulties in energy supplies caused by road blockades organized by protesting Greek farmers.
