The Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) has long been a trusted friend and important partner of Radio Bulgaria, providing invaluable support to our team during meetings with numerous compatriots around the world. Their inspiring stories are featured on our website in Bulgarian and ten other languages, as well as in our Radio Bulgaria podcast, 'Bulgaria Today', and in the programme 'The Hour of Radio Bulgaria' on the Hristo Botev channel.
Although the agency is just one of the channels through which we receive up-to-date information about Bulgarians abroad, it is extremely valuable because it offers a broader perspective on the challenges faced by our compatriots overseas, as well as the moments when they come together to preserve their Bulgarian spirit, identity, and traditions.
'The year ahead will be another challenging one, but it is extremely important for Bulgaria. How successful it will be depends on each one of us!' says Rayna Mandzhukova, Chair of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad. During this time of transition, expectation and hope, she shares her personal credo, which gives her strength and meaning in her personal and professional life:
'Be useful – measure your growth and development by how useful you are to others. The most valuable capital and currency worth accumulating are your contacts and friends. Thirdly, success and professional fulfilment can only be achieved if you truly love what you do. These are the principles I believe in. If these values matter to everyone, I think our lives will be richer and Bulgaria will be stronger and better,' says Ms Mandzhukova.
On 2 January, visit our website to read her exclusive interview with Radio Bulgaria, in which she discusses the Executive Agency's priorities regarding policies for Bulgarians abroad in 2026.
On the first day of the year, we would like to wish all our readers and listeners good health. May you never lose your curiosity about the world and the dignified role that small Bulgaria has played throughout the centuries. Today, our compatriots abroad continue to be some of its most dedicated promoters, organising festivals, creating dance ensembles and running schools that preserve and teach the Bulgarian language, folklore and traditions.
In 2026, the Radio Bulgaria team will continue to share with you all the most interesting stories about Bulgarians both near and far!
