For
the past twelve months, nearly 8,000
people have donated blood, which is the highest result in the history
of the Center for Transfusion Hematology of the Military Medical
Academy, the press
center of
the academy
announced. In
previous years the number of blood donors varied between 6,000
and 7,000.
The
Military Medical Academy points
out
that this year's growth is a sign of sustainable development and
growing trust in the Center's activities.
"I
want to thank all the donors - they are true heroes. The help of
servicemen and civilians from military formations, who make up nearly
half of all blood donors, is also irreplaceable," said Prof.
Rumen Popov, head of the Center for Transfusion Hematology. According
to him, a significant role in the increased number of donors is
played by the mobile teams of the Military Medical Academy, which
visit various organizations and institutions, giving more people the
opportunity to join the initiative "Be one of us: Donate blood -
save a life".
