Bulgarian volleyball national team player Simeon Nikolov has been ranked No. 6 in the world in a chart crafted by the Volleyball World social media team.
Here is what the media outlet Volleyball World wrote about him alongside a video featuring some of his best moments at the World Championship earlier this year, where Moni and Bulgaria won the silver medals:
Bulgaria is back on the world volleyball map – it is silver again after 55 years!
“Only 18 during the national team season, 209 cm and chaos in setter form. Moni Nikolov brought edge and audacity to the role — wild distribution, fearless choices, and zero hesitation that gave the game a whole new spark.”
Simeon Nikolov finished the World Championship in the Philippines with impressive statistics of 44 points (25 attacks, 11 blocks, 14 aces). With him on the court, Bulgaria reached the finals of the World Championship for the first time in 55 years, the publication in Volleyball World writes.
Another Bulgarian player, Alexander Grozdanov, the captain of the Bulgarian national volleyball team, is also included in the chart as No.8 in the world.
