A frosty morning and an even colder, windy day

On Tuesday, minimum temperatures will range from -5°C to 0°C, with around -4°C in Sofia. West-northwesterly winds will strengthen again during the day, becoming moderate to strong with gusts. Maximum temperatures will range from 5 to 10°C, reaching around 6°C in Sofia.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with rain. There will be a strong northeasterly wind. Maximum air temperatures will range from 8 to 11°C. The sea temperature will be between 9 and 11°C, with waves reaching 2–3 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, it will be mostly sunny with temporary increases in cloud cover during the afternoon. Strong to gale-force northwesterly winds will usher in colder air. Maximum temperatures will be around -5°C at 1,200 metres and
around -3°C at 2,000 metres.

On Wednesday, the last day of the year, another surge of cold air driven by strong northwesterly winds is expected. It will be mostly sunny, with occasional cloudiness and no precipitation. Daytime temperatures will remain below freezing across most of the country, while mornings will be very cold, with minimum temperatures dropping to -10°C in some areas.
