Bulgaria receives €1.47 billion third instalment from EU recovery fund

Bulgaria has received its third payment under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), amounting to €1.47 billion. This followed the European Commission’s assessment that 48 out of the 50 milestones and targets included in the payment request had been met.

The third NRRP payment request covers 22 reforms and 19 investments, making it the largest to be submitted to date. Key measures reported under this request relate to ongoing reforms in areas such as research and innovation, decarbonisation, public procurement, strengthening the governance framework of state-owned enterprises and developing e-governance and e-health systems.
