The New Year comes with sub-zero temperatures

On Wednesday, the lowest temperatures will be between minus 7 and minus 2°C. In Sofia - about minus 7°C. During the day, it will be mostly sunny, as later in the afternoon there will be temporary increases in cloudiness. There will be moderate to strong wind from the west-northwest during the day. It will bring cold air and daytime temperatures will drop. The highest temperatures will be between minus 1 and 4°C; in the capital city - around 0°C.

On New Year's Eve, the wind will weaken, but will remain moderate from the west-northwest. In some places in the eastern and mountainous regions, there will be light snowfalls. By midnight, temperatures will be between minus 11°C in the southwestern and mountainous regions to minus 3-4°C in the eastern regions.

At the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with possible breaks in the clouds during the day. There will be northeasterly wind. The maximum air temperatures will be 2-3°C. The sea water temperature is 9-10°C.

In the mountains, the cloudiness will be variable, often decreasing to mostly sunny weather. During the New Year's Eve, there will be snowfall in some places. The northwesterly wind will be strong to temporarily stormy. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 m will be around minus 10°C; at 2000 m. around minus 17°C.
