Artificial intelligence has yet to bring noticeable changes to Bulgaria’s labour market, an expert said.

“There has been no observable shift in the labour market in Bulgaria linked to the introduction of artificial intelligence,” Georgi Parvanov, a human resources expert and board member of the Bulgarian Association for People Management and the Bulgarian Employment Confederation, told Bulgarian National Radio.

Parvanov said AI’s impact is already significant in more developed economies such as the United States and Western Europe, but in Bulgaria its effect remains limited.

“The impact of AI in Bulgaria is currently minimal,” he said, adding that a more tangible effect is expected from 2026–2027, when AI is likely to replace jobs involving repetitive, purely administrative tasks.

He also noted that some traditional craft professions are gradually disappearing. “Young people entering the labour market now are not particularly eager to pursue them,” he added.
