It will be clear overnight, followed by mostly sunny weather on Friday. Temporary cloud cover is expected after midday, with light snow possible in parts of western Bulgaria. A moderate south-westerly wind will blow, occasionally strengthening.
Minimum temperatures will range between –5°C and 0°C, falling slightly lower in the valleys of south-western Bulgaria. Daytime highs will be between 5°C and 10°C. In Sofia, temperatures will range from around –3°C in the morning to a maximum of about 5°C.
In the mountains, conditions will be mostly sunny, with temporary increases in cloud cover during the afternoon. Light snowfall is forecast for the western Stara Planina, as well as the Rila and Pirin mountains. Strong winds will blow from the west-south-west. At 1,200 metres, maximum temperatures will be around 3°C, while at 2,000 metres they will drop to about –4°C.
Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will be mostly sunny, with a moderate south-westerly wind. Maximum temperatures will reach between 7°C and 9°C. Sea water temperatures will be 9°C–11°C, with sea conditions of force 1 to 2 on the Beaufort scale.
