As of 1 January 2026, Bulgaria’s minimum wage is €620.20, a 12.6% increase on last year’s figure of €551, according to a resolution of the Council of Ministers. The rise will benefit nearly 600,000 workers.

Meanwhile, the poverty line for 2026 has been set at €390.63, up €64.42 (19.7%) from 2025. The increase also raises the value of related social benefits and financial support under the Social Assistance Act, the Act on Persons with Disabilities, and the Child Protection Act.
