Due to protests and blockades by Greek farmers, there will be
difficulties in the passage of light and heavy vehicles through all
border crossings in both directions, the Border Police announced.
At a national
meeting on January 4, the protesters will determine their next
actions. Greek farmers have been organizing blockades since the end
of November due to delays in the payment of agricultural subsidies as
a result of a corruption scandal in the agricultural payments agency.
On the borders with
Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia, traffic is normal
at all border checkpoints. Traffic at the border crossings with
Romania is also normal, BTA reports.
