Increase in price of taxi services in Sofia

The new year began with an 18.6% increase in taxi fares in the capital city. According to the methodology adopted by the Sofia Municipal Council for automatic indexation of prices for taxi transportation of passengers per 1 km of distance, three main components are used: inflation – 75%, change in the minimum wage – 15%, and fuel – 10%. The daily minimum tariff is now 0.73 euros/km (1.43 levs/km) compared to a tariff of 1.21 levs in the previous year, and the night tariff is 0.84 euros/km (1.65 levs/km) compared to 1.39 levs in 2025. The daily maximum tariff increases to 1.24 euros/km (2.43 levs/km) compared to 2.05 levs in 2025, and the maximum night tariff is 1.52 euros/km (2.98 levs/km) compared to 2.51 levs in 2025.
