With Bulgaria joining the eurozone, the Bulgarian National Bank begins minting collector coins with nominal value in euros, according to information published on the bank's website. The coin program for this year envisages minting one gold, three silver and one copper coin.

The gold coin with a nominal value of 100 euros and dedicated to St. Ivan Rilski is expected to be issued in October. The silver coins with a nominal value of 10 euros will be on the theme of "125 years of electric trams in Bulgaria", "150 years of the April Uprising" and "Preobrazhenski Monastery".

The copper coin with a nominal value of 5 euros will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the most notable Bulgarian actors, Krastyo Sarafov, and will be launched in March.
