Bulgaria joining the eurozone, the Bulgarian National Bank begins minting collector coins with nominal value in euros, according to information published on the bank's website. The coin program for this
year envisages minting one gold, three silver and one copper
coin.
The
gold coin with a nominal value of 100 euros and dedicated to St. Ivan
Rilski is expected to be issued in October.
The
silver coins with a nominal value of 10 euros will be on the theme of
"125 years of electric trams in Bulgaria", "150 years
of the April Uprising" and "Preobrazhenski Monastery".
The
copper coin with a nominal value of 5 euros will commemorate the
150th anniversary of the birth of one of the most notable Bulgarian
actors, Krastyo Sarafov, and will be launched in March.
