Dimitar Penev is remembered as legendary footballer and coach: President Radev

“Dimitar Penev will remain forever remembered in history with his achievements as a footballer for Lokomotiv (Sofia) and CSKA, and as a coach thanks to whom Bulgaria achieved its most prestigious results at both club and national level. His contribution to discovering and supporting many young talents on their path to top-level football is immense,” Bulgarian President Rumen Radev wrote on his Facebook page, expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of Bulgarian football coach Dimitar Penev, as well as to the entire football community.

Radev emphasized that with patience and a keen sense not only for the subtleties of the game but also for the personalities of some of Bulgaria’s greatest footballers, Dimitar Penev brought the national team its best-ever result and united the Bulgarian people at a time when they greatly needed it.
