No major violations were found by the National Revenue Agency and the Commission for Protection of Competition regarding the euro's adoption on January 1, 2026. Anna Mitova, director of the Communications Directorate at the central office of the revenue agency, announced this in Veliko Tarnovo. Breaches, mostly due to ignorance, were recorded in around 10% of the establishments inspected. Citizens have submitted reports which mostly concern price hikes for medicine and beauty treatments.
"If you notice any irregularities, please report them to the Coordination Centre for the Introduction of the Euro," urged Vladimir Ivanov, chairman of the Centre, on Bulgarian National Radio.
