President Rumen Radev said that Venezuela had become another episode in the dismantling of the international legal order as it has been known until now. He warned that a series of precedents was increasing security risks for all countries, including Bulgaria.

Radev made these comments after reviewing an honour guard from Bulgaria’s armed forces during the Epiphany blessing of military flags in Sofia.

“This means we must pay much closer attention to the Bulgarian army and our own defence capabilities, as well as the strength and deterrent power of the alliances we belong to,” he said.

“We are witnessing the rule of force, and this carries a number of risks for international security,” the head of state added, according to the Bulgarian News Agency BTA.
