Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Grozdan Karadjov discussed in a phone call with Greek Transport Minister Christos Dimas the ongoing blockades by Greek farmers at border crossings and main roads between Bulgaria and Greece. Karadjov expressed Bulgaria's serious concern over the escalating protests, which have been going on for more than a month and are leading to long queues of trucks on Bulgarian territory and significant economic losses.

He pointed out that the blockades not only disrupt the free movement of goods and people within the EU, but also leave hundreds of drivers waiting for hours in harsh winter conditions. He called for a solution to the problem to be found as soon as possible. Dimas replied that Greece is aware of the difficulties and was actively seeking a solution.
