MEPs from the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs are visiting a transitional housing complex for young people in Sofia. The facility supports refugee children and victims of trafficking aged between 14 and 18.
The lawmakers are on a three-day visit to Bulgaria, the Bulgarian News Agency BTA said.
Their programme includes meetings with national authorities responsible for child protection and representatives of non-governmental organisations, visits to social service centres for children and families, and briefings on reforms to Bulgaria’s child care system.
