Subzero temps with gale-force winds in the mountains

On Tuesday, minimum temperatures will range from -10 to 5°C. Sofia will experience temperatures around -5°C. Cloud cover will increase from the west during the day. Light snow is expected in some areas in the afternoon and overnight into Wednesday, mainly in the north and in the mountains.


Winds will be light, increasing to moderate in the east, blowing from the west-southwest. Maximum temperatures will reach between 0 and 5°C, around 2°C in the capital.



It will be sunny along the Black Sea coast during the day, with rain and snow showers in the evening. Maximum temperatures will range from 2 to 4 degrees. Sea temperatures will be 10 to 11 degrees, with waves reaching 3 on the Beaufort scale.



After brief clear spells, cloud cover will increase again in the mountains. Light snow is expected mainly in the Stara Planina mountain range and the higher areas of southwestern Bulgaria in the afternoon. Winds will be strong to gale force from the west-northwest. Maximum temperatures will be around 0°C at 1,200 metres and around -4°C at 2,000 metres.



Wednesday will bring rapid and noticeable warming. Skies will clear with light to moderate westerly winds.
