Cabinet discusses situation in Venezuela and security risks in the region

Under the leadership of outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, a meeting of the Security Council at the Council of Ministers was held, at which the Annual Report on the State of National Security of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2024 was adopted. The current situation in Venezuela and the potential risks to regional and global security were reviewed in detail, as well as the expected geopolitical developments related to Greenland, the government press office reported. Particular attention was paid to the situation in Iran. The participants also discussed possible scenarios for the development of the war in Ukraine. Rossen Zhelyazkov assured that the outgoing government will continue to closely monitor all processes related to Bulgaria’s security.
