The first five Stryker combat vehicles will arrive from the United States in early February for assembly and outfitting at the military plant Terem–Ivaylo in Veliko Tarnovo, reported our correspondent Zdravka Maslyankova.

The state has paid the company 17 million leva (€8.692 million) to prepare buildings and facilities, and the military plant is materially, technically, and staff-wise ready. This was stated by outgoing Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov after an on-site inspection.

According to him, the absence of an adopted state budget will not hinder the outfitting of the Stryker combat vehicles and their auxiliary equipment. “The funds for all the vehicles - around €1.2 billion - have been secured,” Zapryanov emphasized.

In total, 198 vehicles will pass through the Terem–Ivaylo military plant under this contract over the next several years.
