Alexander Krashniak is the fourth Bulgarian snowboarder to secure participation in the XXV Winter Games in Milan–Cortina this February. The 21-year-old athlete recorded the biggest achievement of his career by finishing second at the Bad Gastein Snowboarding Alpine World Cup.
Krashniak delivered a sensational performance in the night race. The Bulgarian eliminated Austria’s living legend Andreas Prommegger. He then successively knocked out two more stars — Italy’s Aaron March and Germany’s Stefan Baumeister. In the big final against Maurizio Bormolini, the Bulgarian lost his balance at the start and was unable to catch up with the Italian, who recorded his fifth victory on the road to the Crystal Globe.
Radoslav Yankov, Tervel Zamfirov and Malena Zamfirova also earned Olympic quotas.
