The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) has revised upward its forecast for Bulgaria’s GDP growth over the period 2025–2027 compared to its June 2025 outlook. BNB projects that real GDP growth will reach 3.2% in 2025. In its June 2025 forecast the central bank expected GDP growth of 2.9% in 2025. For 2026 and 2027, real GDP is expected to increase by 3.1%. In its June 2025 forecast the central bank expected GDP growth of 2.9% in 2026 and 2027.
“Private consumption will continue to make the main contribution to GDP growth, while relatively weak external demand for Bulgarian goods and services, along with country-specific factors, will have a negative impact over the forecast horizon”, the Bulgarian National Bank emphasizes in its “Macroeconomic Forecast.”
In 2026, average annual inflation is expected to remain similar to the previous year’s level (3.5%) and to slow to 3.2% in 2027.
