If a citizen has not voted in a particular type of election, they should be required to submit a special application. This is one of the amendments to the Electoral Code that BSP-United Left will submit to the National Assembly, MP Natalia Kiselova from BSP and former Parliamentary Speaker said on Nova TV.

The additional requirement for people who wish to vote is intended to clean up the voter lists of so-called “dead souls.” Until now, all voters have been included in the lists regardless of whether they had exercised their right to vote.

According to Natalia Kiselova, Bulgaria is not ready for new technological experiments in the electoral process, referring to “scanning devices.” In her words, such decisions should be taken only after serious coordination with the Central Election Commission.
