A protest by hauliers from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro is scheduled for 26 January 2026. The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that they plan to block traffic through heavy goods terminals at land border crossing points with Schengen countries, including Bulgaria.
The organisers have stated that they do not intend to cause difficulties for light vehicles. However, the protests are likely to cause traffic delays at all terminals at the respective border crossing points.
The ministry advises citizens, especially drivers of heavy goods vehicles planning to travel through Serbia around the specified date, to check the current traffic situation at the country's border crossings in advance, and to plan an alternative route if possible.
