“We are waiting to see what will be proposed because the time for moralizing speeches and ceremonies is over. We are looking forward to seeing something more action-oriented on the ground,” said Denitsa Sacheva.
According to her, Radev’s statement yesterday left the priorities of his future political formation unclear. “In flying, the pilot is important, but in politics, it is the team that matters,” she said, referring to Radev’s former role as commander of the Bulgarian Air Force. “So let’s see who is in the team, because that will give us the clearest indication of the policy and what he means by a ‘new social contract.’ GERB will not fight Mr Radev or his political entity. GERB will leave Mr Radev to contend with reality,” she added.
In his Monday statement announcing his resignation, Radev said that current political circumstances require a “new social contract.”
