Seven Bulgarian MEPs supported the European Parliament's decision to request an opinion from the Court of Justice of the EU on the trade agreement with Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay). Nine Bulgarian MEPs voted against.

The decision was supported by Hristo Petrov, Rada Laikova, Stanislav Stoyanov, Petar Volgin, Ivaylo Valchev, Taner Kabilov and Elena Yoncheva. The votes against came from Andrey Kovachev, Iliya Lazarov, Andrey Novakov and Emil Radev, Nikola Minchev, Radan Kanev, Tsvetelina Penkova, Kristian Vigenin and Ilhan Kyuchyuk. Eva Maydell did not participate in the vote.

A total of 334 MEPs supported the referral to the court, 324 voted against, and 11 abstained. This will significantly delay the ratification of the agreement, which has sparked protests by farmers in Europe.
