An exhibition of paintings from the national contest “In the Footsteps of Sirak Skitnik” opens today in the marble foyer of Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). BNR co-organised the competition with the National High School of Visual Arts 'Dimitar Dobrovich' in Sliven, the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Sliven.

The exhibition has been timed to coincide with BNR’s anniversary celebrations. Sirak Skitnik, the artist, critic, and public figure, was the first director of BNR (then Radio Sofia), appointed in 1935.
The show features works by 60 students in grades 10–12 from seven schools specialising in visual arts under the Ministry of Culture, alongside the winning entries.

The paintings reflect the techniques, style and themes of Sirak Skitnik’s work. "These young artists engage creatively with artistic movements from the first half of the 20th century," reported BNR.
