The Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water in Burgas provided assistance to a lost young pink flamingo. The bird was spotted on the road near the village of Bratovo, Burgas region, by a citizen who reported the incident.

It is believed that the young bird became disoriented while flying over the nearby lakes, which attract thousands of flamingos. After rainfall, the asphalt pavement often resembles a water mirror, which may have led the bird to land on the road instead of in the water, the inspectorate explained.

The flamingo will be examined by specialists and, if its condition permits, will be returned to its natural environment.
