Maria Ilieva with an intimate personal message in "Svetlina"

Multifaceted like every artist, with diverse musical pursuits - this is Maria Ilieva. After "DIVA x2", which she presented at the end of 2025 together with Preyah, the singer offers a very different song - "Svetlina". It illustrates the other line in her work, related to looking into her soul and conveying profound messages. In addition to being a performer, Maria Ilieva is the author of the music and lyrics, and for the arrangement she turned to the renowned jazz pianist Zhivko Petrov, with whom she has had a long and beautiful friendship over the years. They have often worked together, including on the songs "Sama" and "Lyubov".

For Maria Ilieva, "Svetlina" is both a prayer and expression of gratitude:

"Svetlina is my inner need to say ‘Thank you’ - for everything I have. For the good moments, of course, but also for those that have made me stronger and taught me a lesson. For this good life, for being healthy and being able to live it to the fullest. For my beautiful children, for the love I have met… For all these things that make me complete. Of course, through music I can do it most convincingly. And in fact, this song came out inspired and motivated by that at the right moment."

"Svetlina" takes us closer to the singer's upcoming album, which is expected in the spring.
