Sofia Economic Forum 2026 focuses on Southeast European economy and energy

The Sofia Economic Forum 2026 is taking place today at the Sofia Balkan Palace, as announced by the event's organiser, the Delphi Economic Forum. This year's edition is dedicated to the dynamic developments in the economy, infrastructure and energy sector of Southeast Europe.


Speakers will discuss the impact of global geopolitical crises on the regional economy, as well as the opportunities arising from Bulgaria’s entry into the Eurozone. The forum will also highlight the country’s energy transition, including investments in natural gas infrastructure, renewable energy sources and modernising transmission networks to improve regional connectivity.

Notable participants include Rossen Plevneliev, former President of Bulgaria (2012–2017), and Panagiotis Mavridis, Chair of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria.
