Bulgaria’s reformist We Continue the Change (PP) party sees no prospect of entering government with the centre-right GERB party or President Rumen Radev, party leader Assen Vassilev said on Monday.
“A governing arrangement involving GERB and Rumen Radev is not on the agenda,” Vassilev told reporters. He said the PP-led coalition remained united and focused on the direction in which the country would move.
“If Rumen Radev wishes, he can support us,” Vassilev added.
He said talks with the Democratic Bulgaria alliance were due to begin, with decisions on candidate lists expected within two to three weeks. Discussions were also under way with representatives of protest movements and youth organisations about their inclusion on electoral lists.
Vassilev said the coalition expected to present “strong candidate lists."
