The Council of Ministers approved a draft agreement between Bulgaria and Serbia to open a joint border crossing — Kalotina 2 on the Bulgarian side and Gradina 2 on the Serbian side — clearing the way for negotiations.

The new checkpoint will be located near the existing Kalotina–Gradina border crossing. It will handle passengers and light vehicles, operating on a seasonal basis with set working hours.

At the same meeting, the outgoing government also approved a draft agreement with Türkiye providing for the opening of a new border crossing, Kapitan Andreevo–Kapıkule North.

The proposed crossing would be located near the village of Kapitan Andreevo in Bulgaria’s Svilengrad municipality and near Kapıkule in Turkey’s Edirne province, to the north of the existing checkpoint.
