Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has adopted amendments to the
Electricity Trading Rules. They are part of the commitments under the
Recovery and Resilience Plan and should lead to the termination of
the initiated procedure against Bulgaria for non-transposition of the
European Directive on the promotion of the use of energy from
renewable sources.
The changes create
regulatory prerequisites for the rapid development of citizen energy
communities and renewable energy communities on the territory of the
country and encourage end customers and other persons to build
generating capacities for their own consumption. This reduces the
technological costs of electricity distribution network operators
related to the transmission of electricity and also ensures more
predictable energy costs and lower prices for network services.
