EU to support Bulgarian Black Sea coastal regions with cohesion measures

Sofia has received a positive response from the European Commission for equal treatment of Bulgarian Black Sea coastal regions, along with other eastern regions of the EU near the land border with Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. This was announced from the rostrum of the National Assembly by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of EU Funds, Dimitar Gardev.

The response indicates that new financial incentives are being provided for the eastern regions of Bulgaria to address the challenges of the war in Ukraine. It is noted that within the framework of the upcoming adoption of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework, comprehensive financial support will be provided to these regions.
