Wednesday will see temperatures of between -8°C and -3°C, with Sofia dropping to around -1°C. Over the next 24 hours, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with fog in some valleys. A yellow frost warning has been issued for six northern regions.

After midday, rain will develop in the south-west and continue through the night into Thursday. Winds will be light and ease in many areas, although moderate south-south-easterly winds are expected in north-eastern Bulgaria and along the northern mountain slopes. Maximum temperatures will range from 4°C to 9°C, with lower values in foggy areas. In the capital, temperatures will reach around 3°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy in the south and partly cloudy in the north. Maximum air temperatures will range from 6°C to 8°C, matching the sea temperature. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate, with waves of force 2-3 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, it will be mostly cloudy with rain developing in the afternoon. Above 2,000 metres, precipitation will fall as snow. Strong to gale-force south-south-westerly winds are expected. Maximum temperatures will be around 6°C at 1,200 metres and approximately 2°C at 2,000 metres.

On Thursday, rain will spread across the whole country, with heavy showers expected in parts of southern and eastern Bulgaria again. Southerly winds will persist and temperatures will continue to rise.
